Get to know me
Hello there! My name is Jiratchaya Piamkulvanich, but you can call me 'Jinny'. Born and raised in Thailand, I am currently an international student in the Master of Journalism program at the University of British Columbia.
It is my passion for communication that makes me who I am today. Ever since I was young, English has always been my favorite subject: I have always enjoyed putting my ideas down in paragraph after paragraph and seeing them come to life on paper. Later in my life, I would discover that with the advancement of social media, the possibilities for communication become endless. Slowly I started to explore and fell in love with multi-media content on Instagram, TikTok, etc.
Skills
Have extensive experience in content production (i.e., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X).
Able to communicate verbally and in written texts in an effective manner.
Have basic image and video editing skills (i.e., Adobe Lightroom, VLLO, and Canvas).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
My Work
Content Creator and Writer
The majority of my work and volunteer experiences revolve around content creation and writing. Out of all of them, my biggest achievement is @missjanebag, a handmade bag business on Instagram I started with my family. I was able to achieve 17.9K and 5,658 followers on Instagram and TikTok respectively within less than a year and a half with the marketing content that I developed. Another experience that I am proud of is my current role as a volunteer writer at The Source Newspaper, where I cover topics related to diverse arts and cultures in Vancouver.
